CD Projekt has shot down a persistent rumor that it is in talks with Sony about an acquisition deal, saying unequivocally that no such negotiations are taking place.
Talk of a possible CD Projekt takeover has been kicking around for years: Way back in 2015, for instance, Electronic Arts was reportedly looking to buy the studio—a rumor that CD Projekt quickly shot down. A year later it happened again after CD Projekt made some behind-the-scenes moves as “insurance” against a hypothetical hostile takeover.
Speculation about a possible buyout flared up again in 2022 following the announcement of an ambitious multi-year development plan and the stepdown of longtime joint CEO Marcin Iwiński, although analysts said there was nothing about the studio’s actions that pointed specifically toward an impending takeover.

As of January 31, 2023, Microsoft will stop selling digital licenses of Windows 10 from its website. So, if you’re planning on building yourself a Windows 10 PC, you better start now.
The folks over at PC World first spotted the news at the bottom of several Windows 10 product pages on the Microsoft store website with a footnote reading:
“January 31, 2023, will be the last day this Windows 10 download is offered for sale. Windows 10 will remain supported with security updates that help protect your PC from viruses, spyware, and other malware until October 14, 2025.”
It’s important to note that Microsoft isn’t ending support for Windows 10 for another couple of years, so existing Windows 10 users don’t have to worry and still won’t miss on key new features like DirectStorage.

In July this year PCG reported on a brewing controversy—far from the first—at the wiki hosting service Fandom. The editors and contributors of the Minecraft wiki, one of the site’s largest, had had enough, and angered by what they saw as “degraded” functionality and endless popup ads, began the process of voting on a full scale migration away from the site, and towards a new host.
The Minecraft wiki is now born again thanks to *checks notes* Weird Gloop. After a discussion among contributors, this host was chosen because it “has a minimal amount of ads, a strong set of technical infrastructure, lots of transparency, and a strong track record regarding the SEO competition with Fandom for page ranking.” Weird Gloop also hosts the Runescape wiki, which was one of the first to break away from Fandom (then Wikia) in a similar manner.

Hello everyone, we’re still two days from the release of Diablo 4 and I’m already tired to trying to keep up with class balance tweaks. It has been negative two (-2) days since launch, sorry, two days since early access launch for people who paid more and two days until proper launch and we’ve got our first patch and it’s… almost entirely nerfs and buffs. Class balance tweaks!
The patch rolled out just a few hours later, and a brief overview of the notes shows some nerfs for Barbarians, Rogues, and Sorcerers, while Druids got a few buffs and Necromancers got almost exclusively buffs.
Most notably, Barbarians’ Challenging Shout had its damage reduction per skill rank halved, while Rogues’ Dark Shroud damage reduction per shadow per skill rank was also halved and sorcerers lost two seconds off of Shimmering Teleport’s damage reduction. Modern graphics cards use lots of power and all of it is turned into heat. So if you’re paying many hundreds of dollars for a powerful GPU, you’d expect no expense to be spared on the cooling system. It turns out that for many Nvidia RTX 40-series vendors, the expense is being spared and cheap, poorly applied thermal paste is leading to scorching high hotspot temperatures and performance degradation over time.
That’s the conclusion hardware tester Igor’s Lab has come to after testing multiple GeForce RTX cards, analysing temperatures and performance, and discovering that the thermal paste used by many graphics card vendors is not only sub-standard for the job but is also poorly applied.

Things are going from bad to worse for FaZe Clan, the esports and lifestyle brand that bellyflopped onto the Nasdaq with a public listing in July last year. Dexerto reports that the company has lost one of its most famous backers: weed evangelist and hip hop artist Snoop Dogg, who resigned from its board of directors on March 29, which was revealed in an SEC filing by the company yesterday.
“On March 29, 2023, Calvin “Snoop Dogg” Broadus, Jr. notified FaZe Holdings Inc. … that he is resigning from the Board of Directors,” read the filing, but noted that the resignation “was not the result of any disagreement with the Company or any of its subsidiaries”. So at least they’re still friends.
Snoop and FaZe only revealed that the rapper would join the company’s board in March 2022, meaning his tenure has only lasted about a year.
